McFarland played an instrumental role recognizing the need for quality equipment, he facilitated the swift procurement of disc golf baskets, ensuring the course was not only designed well but also equipped with the best.
The broader RGV disc golf community, especially notable figures like Leo De La Rosa from the 956 Disc Golf Community on Facebook mobilized his community and sharing his extensive expertise during our first popup tournament before our course was installed. His efforts didn’t stop there. Leo connected other enthusiast like Benjamin Vondrak, who pitched in with their invaluable input, time, and attention to detail. Challenges were plenty, but drone flights, multiple design iterations, and a community-driven approach meant every obstacle was an opportunity in disguise.

Enter Jermiah Gutierrez of Axis Disc Golf. Realizing the need for equipment availability, he collaborated with Express Hardware. The result? Elsa’s first disc golf store, nestled within Express Hardware. A beacon of innovation and collaboration, this venture underscores Elsa’s entrepreneurial spirit. Now the community has access to quality products to play our Pacific Trails course with the convenience of walking to a local store to start their journey into this sport.
